welcome to

a grassroots business-building collective
for creative freelancers

heck yes!

We’re starting a revolution to put the freedom back in freelancing.

We’re over the whole 'scale-your-business-to-the-moon' BS. Let’s ditch the hustle, the constant content churn, and the social media hamster wheel.

We’re here to build a space where we do business our way — no rules, no pressure, just real connections and doing what actually makes us happy.

Freelancers deserve to enjoy the freedom they signed up for without all the stress. Our vision is a community where we lift each other up, make money, and have fun doing it.

Let’s break the rules and thrive on our own terms!

because let's be real...

As a freelancer, you're bombarded with advice to scale, automate, and churn out endless content. But, what you really want is consistent clients and steady income — you don’t need an empire! You need a good life.

Instead of enjoying the flexibility freelancing can offer, you’re caught in a frustrating cycle of chasing the next client, trying to manage endless tasks, and never feeling secure about where your next paycheck is coming from. This pressure is burning you out, crushing your creativity, and taking up all your mental energy. And, honestly, it’s lonely.

This isn’t what you had in mind when you started freelancing!

you're totally over the feast or famine cycle

sound familiar...?

Lately, it feels like it’s been more feast and famine than ever—my marketing isn’t working, and my leads have dried up. I’m really struggling to get a steady stream of clients beyond just referrals, plus I can’t seem to reach a bigger audience.
Living paycheck to paycheck is exhausting. I’m always anxious about where next month’s revenue will come from, and it’s demoralizing to realize my finances only stretch to cover my bills, leaving no room for savings or fun stuff — sometimes I wonder if my freelancing journey will ever feel truly successful.

I really crave community and feedback; I can’t keep creating in a vacuum. I want to connect with passionate, visionary entrepreneurs who value creativity instead of constant talk of scaling to six and seven-figure businesses. Can’t we help each other succeed AND have fun? Where my rebels at?! ✋
  • No more feeling pressure to market yourself in ways that feel gross

  • No more trolling networking calls begging for clients

  • No more wondering where your people are

  • No more acting like your own micro-managing tyrant boss

  • No more killing your passion and feeling like a sellout

It’s time to stop overcomplicating things and start focusing on what truly boosts your bottom line — making real connections, building meaningful business relationships, and increasing your visibility through collaboration.

Get off the social media doom spiral and get into The Playhouse!

Your freelance journey doesn’t have to be a nerve wracking suckfest.

You’re done playing by someone else’s rules

introducing

our mission:

The Playhouse is a grassroots collective for Creative Freelancers. Fed up with inconsistent lead generation, unpredictable revenue, and burnout from going it alone? We got you!

Inside our fun, dynamic platform, you’ll find your people, amplify your visibility, and build a steady pipeline of leads and opportunities through community collaboration.

Y’ALL, we’re starting a revolution! When we all work together, you can grow your business, make more money, and get the support you need to reach your goals (nobody else’s). It'll be amazing and brilliant and everyone thrives! Like a rising tide raises all ships kinda vibe! Ya know?

What goes on inside The Playhouse

As a member of The Playhouse, you’ll have access to an inspiring community of Creative Freelancers where you can soak up knowledge, make valuable connections, have inspiring conversations, and build confidence in your niche. It’s the perfect environment to sharpen your skills and gain the insight you need to grow your business.

The Playhouse is built on the foundation that we can all be mentors in our unique zone of genius, whether it's design, copywriting, marketing, or something entirely different. In this space, we bring our expertise to the table and share it with others in a collaborative, supportive way. It’s not about competing; it’s about lifting each other up and amplifying our collective success.

Here’s how you can contribute, connect, and grow inside The Playhouse:

Our online community is the beating heart of The Playhouse.
A vibrant space filled with ongoing discussions, collaboration, and support. Here, you can jump in to ask questions, share resources, and have meaningful conversations with fellow creative freelancers who get it.

Whether you’re looking for advice on a client situation, want to share a recent win, or need recommendations on tools and processes, the community is here to help

It’s a place where you can pop in anytime to get (or give) support, brainstorm ideas, or simply connect with others who understand the ups and downs of freelancing. The conversations happening here are the foundation of our collaborative energy and the starting point for deeper relationships, opportunities, and business growth.
Engage in the Online Community
Everyone has something valuable to offer. Whether you’re an expert in SEO, a branding genius, or a content wizard, you have the opportunity to share your knowledge with the community. If you sign up as a Glow Member, you can host tutorials, live Q&As, or audits to help fellow members sharpen their skills and gain new perspectives. By contributing, you’re not only helping others grow, but you're also increasing your own visibility and credibility.

It’s a fantastic way to build trust, showcase your expertise, and position yourself as a go-to resource. Plus, it's a great way to connect with potential collaborators or clients who value what you bring to the table. Sharing your expertise benefits both you and the entire community.

Host Your Own Events & Share Your Expertise

Members can show up and just ask you a question in your area of expertise - no prep required (ex: you’re a bookkeeper and you’re going to let folks show up and just ask a quick question about Quickbooks, share with them your lead magnet free mini course)

Host a Q&A or Office Hours

Attendees bring something for you to give them feedback on (ex: you’re a social media expert and you'll audit their Instagram bio and help them make it better, share with them your lead magnet on 100 ideas for easy reels)

Feedback or Audits

Collaborate with other mentors and cross promote it so that you can all weigh in on a topic that you’d like to discuss - this would be great for hot topics or new features in platforms - or a fun way to look at how different people use different business tools (ex: a panel on how different folks are using private podcasts or trello or descript)

A Panel Discussion

Invite members to come brainstorm with you (ex: you’re a website designer so people come and brainstorm the best headline for their homepage, invite them to join your email list to know about free workshops you offer each quarter - these would be hosted by you outside of The Playhouse)

Brainstorming Session or Mastermind

Have a group come and share what they do and meet each other (ex: you’re a copywriter who wants to work with graphic designers, host a graphic designer mixer and see who shows up!) Invite them to get on your email list so you can keep in touch!

Networking

Present a very specific small amount of information and let the members do that thing (ex: you’re a VA so you talk about the kinds of things people could outsource then they work on making a list of the things they could outsource and you all share your answers and discuss, invite them to grab your freebie all about how to effectively onboard a VA when they’re ready.)

Work Session or Quick Tutorial

Still feeling nervous about hosting or you want some focused work time with friends? You could show up and hold space for people to work on the thing you’re an expert at. (ex. You’re an email marketing expert, so hold space for people to come write their weekly emails with you, share with them your lead magnet on how to write a great subject line!)

Coworking

The possibilities are endless! 🎉

When you join the revolution, here's what’s possible for you...

You're hosting events with engaged attendees and the conversations are flowing. Your email list is growing and you're selling those low ticket offers that you used to forget to mention. You're connecting with your audience on a human level and have people wanting to hire with you! The best part? It feels way easier than all the things you’ve been trying, and it actually feels fun!
People are inviting you to be a guest on their podcasts, teaching workshops inside other memberships, and getting asked to collaborate on projects that highlight your expertise. Your audience is growing, your credibility is skyrocketing, and you’re opening doors to even bigger opportunities — all while having fun and doing what you love!
You’re hanging out with dream clients who value your work and start seeing your income steadily rise. Your pipeline is full and your business is growing without feeling chaotic or overwhelming. You’re connecting with other business owners through real conversation and genuine connection. You’re finally in the zone, and it feels freaking amazing!

All the A's to your Q's...

What's the difference between Glow and Spark?

Spark DOES NOT include the ability to host events. Glow DOES give you the opportunity to host events. Everyone has access to the online community and is invited to all events. The online community and the events are where all members can soak up knowledge, make valuable connections, and become leaders in their niches. If you sign up for Spark, you can always upgrade to Glow if/when you're ready to host events.

How many events can I host as a Glow Member?

As we build the community you can host as many as two events per week. This is subject to change but I think once a month or once a week will be the norm. We want to make sure that we’re creating a space that is collaborative and diverse. Signing up sooner than later gives you the opportunity to help shape the schedule and get your first choice of days and times.

Keep in mind, The Playhouse will be closed on the weekends, so all events will take place Monday - Friday ET.

Can I sell at my events?

Yes. AND… the ratio of conversation/value to selling should be at LEAST 90/10. You’ll have a QR code on your event background so it will be very easy to refer to that or drop a link in the chat. I can see someone hosting a Q&A about bookkeeping and then saying something like, “I have a free intro course on Quickbooks if you want to grab it.” or “I have a membership where you can ask me questions in our Facebook group whenever they pop up throughout the month.”

Those are natural suggestions and add value to someone struggling with their bookkeeping. The mission of The Playhouse is to build relationships and grow your email list, so you should absolutely be mentioning your offers, both free and paid. However, this is not a space to do a webinar style pitch that’s mostly you talking about your offer. You can absolutely invite them to sign up for your list and register for a webinar you’re hosting in your world.

But the events in The Playhouse are spaces for conversations, coworking, or collaboration. In order to maintain this, attendees will receive an opportunity to give feedback after your event. I’ll be monitoring that feedback to make sure all events are in line with the mission of the community.

Where is the online community hosted?

The online community aspect will be hosted in a platform called Heartbeat. It’s much like Circle or Mighty Networks, essentially a Facebook Group off of Facebook. All the events will be created in Heartbeat and link directly to your event. Engaging in the Heartbeat community will increase your visibility and most likely improve the attendance at your events.

The events themselves will be hosted in a platform called Go Brunch.

What are the details of the affiliate program?

It’s important to me as the founder that this space has a truly collective spirit about it. So everyone (Glow + Spark members) are encouraged to become affiliates for The Playhouse. Affiliates earn 40% recurring commissions on anyone you bring into The Playhouse as long as you are in the community.

A large, diverse group of members and mentors is what will make The Playhouse a success and I can't do it all by myself. The goal of this profit sharing model is to make The Playhouse feel like it belongs to all of us and we are all invested in growing our audiences together. We can do it! 💪

What if I have my own membership? Won't this compete with that?

Here’s where it becomes a personal decision for you and your business. I priced The Playhouse to leave room in folks budgets to spend money with other people in the community.

Here’s a scenario I could see working well: You’re a social media expert with a membership that helps people grow on Instagram. Inside The Playhouse you host an event where you give quick feedback on people’s Instagram Bios. Then you let them know that you have a membership that includes all the awesomeness you host in there - maybe templates, training, regular Q&As with you, a slack channel to ask questions as they pop up.

If they loved meeting you in The Playhouse and you gave great feedback on their profile they’re thinking… “I definitely want to work with them more!” It’s like being on a podcast to get exposure for your membership except instead of chatting with a host - you’re getting to chat directly with your ideal customers which is kind of amazing if you think about it.

Let’s say you host paid networking events - why would you want to host a networking event in The Playhouse? Maybe you don’t - maybe you host an event where you give people a template on how to write their intro and they work on it with you. Then you invite them to your next event to try it out!?!

We just have to start thinking outside of the box on how getting in front of your people and actually hanging out with them can be a really powerful way to fast track relationship building!

Can I record my own events?

The Playhouse isn't about making content, it's about having conversations.

That being said, none of the rooms will be recorded. You can bring any interesting topics or breakthroughs to the Heartbeat Community if you'd like to share it with the entire community.

And I can totally see conversations in The Playhouse being the inspiration for content you put out into the world.

Share the insights, the takeaways, the lightbulb moments with your audiences as well! Just not as a recording. 😬

Will there be replays if we can't make an event?

The magic of The Playhouse is in the live conversations that happen in the different events. The idea is to be a participant, not a consumer of more information coming at you, so there will be no replays.

The ideas is that people will feel more at ease and natural in the conversations which will lead to more genuine connections.

We're hoping to have a ton of events from a diverse group of members, so making it to a few events a month should be totally doable!

What if I have more questions?

Send an email to team[at]deannaseymour[dot]com and ask away! We're here for ya!
